Third Entry Miss Lily Pad

November 3, 2013

The warm Summer sun shinned brightly through the window of the kitchen door.  Miss Lily Pad asked her Mom for some time to play outside; something she so adored as she explored outdoors in the garden.

Before she knew it, it was time to go inside.  “Miss Lily Pad!  It’s time to come in,” Mom called out the kitchen door.  “Do I have to?  Aaah!  Alriiight, Mom, oook.  But, can’t I play?  Just one more minute to pick a flower, pleeease,” Lily protested.  “Aaah!  Alriiight, Miss Lily Pad.  Oook!  Just one more minute,” Mom replied.

“Miss Lily Pad!  It’s time to come in,” Mom called out once again.  “Do I have to?  Aaah!  Alriiight, Mom, oook.  But, can’t I play?  Just one more minute to blow a dandelion puff and make a wish, pleeease,”  Lily requested.  “Aaah!  Alriiight, Miss Lily Pad.  Oook!  Just one more minute,” Mom replied.

“Just one more minute to share a doggie treat with Lola, pleeease,” Lily begged.  “Aaah!  Alriiight, Miss Lily Pad.  Oook!  Just one more minute,” Mom agreed.

“Just one more minute to pick an apple from the tree, pleeease,” Lily asked.”  Aaah!  Alriiight, Miss Lily Pad.  Oook!  Just one more minute,” Mom responded.

“Just one more minute to kick my soccer ball, pleeease,” Lily requested.”Aaah!  Alriiight, Miss Lily Pad.  Oook!  Just one more minute,” Mom approved.

“Just one more minute to swing and slide again, pleeease,” Lily questioned.”Aaah!  Alriiight, Miss Lily Pad.  Oook!  Just one more minute,” Mom said.

“Just one more minute to ride my bike, pleeease,” Lily exclaimed.”Aaah!  Alriiight, Miss Lily Pad.  Oook!  Just one more minute,” Mom stated.

“Just one more minute to jump rope, pleeease,” Lily bellowed.”Aaah!  Alriiight, Miss Lily Pad.  Oook!  Just one more minute,” Mom replied.

“Just one more minute to draw a picture on the sidewalk with my chalk, pleeease,” Lily bellowed.”Aaah!  Alriiight, Miss Lily Pad.  Oook!  Just one more minute,” Mom reluctantly said.

This time there were no more minutes.  Miss Lily Pad quickly replied, “Alriiight, Mom.  Oook! ” Mom wrapped her arms around Lily Pad, whispering in her ear, “It’s been a long day.  Tomorrow will be time again to play.  Let’s call it a day.” Miss Lily Pad snuggled into her Mom’s loving arms and quickly fell sound asleep, dreaming of the fun that day.
