Sixth Entry Joshua and Nike

November 6, 2013

The brown dog began to wag her stump of a tail.

Grab a leash for Nike.

Grab a cap for me.

Time to walk the neighborhood nature trail.

Daily walks for Joshua and his sweet dog happen everyday without fail.

Slow down Nike!

Slow down and wait for me!

Such an unexpected escape as Nike took off and left Joshua behind. His eyes just could not believe.

As fast as his strong legs would go, Joshua sprinted after Nike, for he was not frail.

It did not take much effort to catch up with her, who usually moved as slow as a snail.

Joshua was soon within a few feet of Nike and he knew he could snatch the leash. He would prevail.

Stop, Nike!

Stop! Sit! Sit! Such a good girl!

Both the owner and beloved pet were soon together and also completely out of breath.

Nike was panting, while Joshua took deep breaths as he inhaled and exhaled.

Thinking it was best to turn around, Joshua made the decision to return home and so the daily walk to the nature trail was rerouted and curtailed.

Joshua noted the mail truck drive away, down the street, after delivering letters and a package and all of the goods.

Opening the mailbox, Joshua retrieved many envelopes addressed to his Mom and Dad and then he took a second look.

A box wrapped in paper was addressed to him!

With much care the package was shook.

Let’s take a quick look.

My guess . . . It must be a book.

Recipes and instructions; messages and pictures of deliciousness, this book from Oma gives me information on how to bake and cook good favorite dishes. Oh, how I wish Oma and I could cook.
